Located five miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles, Silver Lake is bounded by Los Feliz on the north, East Hollywood on the west, Westlake on the southwest, and Echo Park on the southeast.
Silver Lake is named after the reservoir with the same name that the city surrounds. Around the namesake lake is Moreno Highlands, which is the prime real estate in the neighborhood.Silver Lake Showcase luxurious Spanish Mediterranean homes with arches, stucco and roof tiles. In the 1930s, many well-known Modernist architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Gregory Ain, John Lautner and Raphael Soriano also designed avant-garde buildings and houses in the neighborhood.
